The method to cure chronic pain
The method to cure chronic pain, Freedom from Chronic Pain, was developed by Professor Howard Schubiner (a physician) and Hal Greenham (a psychotherapist). It is the so-called mind-body approach, or mind-body connection. It includes elements of Dr. Sarno’s approach, education in the neuroscience of pain, Pain Reprocessing Therapy, Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy, and Internal Family Systems Therapy. A number of recent studies have demonstrated the efficacy of this method and the data to date shows a high success rate. With this method, you can not only manage your chronic pain better, but more importantly, get rid of it.
Pain Reprocessing Therapy
Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) is an evidence-based treatment method. It is a system of psychological and somatic techniques that teach the brain to stop interpreting signals from the body as dangerous, thereby breaking the cycle of chronic pain. PRT differs from other treatments in that it focuses on eliminating pain, not managing it. The goal of PRT is for the brain to stop perceiving symptoms as dangerous.
A 2022 study using PRT showed that 98% of participants improved and 66% were pain-free or nearly pain-free at the end of pain reprocessing. It was the first study to investigate treatment options for chronic pain that had a “pain-free” or “nearly pain-free” category in the results.
Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy
Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy (EAET) is an evidence-based therapeutic method. EAET focuses on unresolved trauma or emotional conflicts. In EAET, clients are invited to become aware of and express repressed emotions such as anger or sadness. The goal of EAET is for the brain to stop viewing emotions as dangerous.
Internal Family Systems Therapy
IFS is a therapeutic method based on scientific knowledge. IFS helps people heal themselves by accessing their protective and wounded inner parts.
